Little League® is an international pastime that has been a fabric of societies throughout the world for 75 years. Since its founding in 1939 by Carl Stotz, Little League has instilled leadership, character, courage and loyalty in all that participate, including the nearly 1.5 million adult volunteers. Little League can be found in more than 80 countries worldwide with more than 2.4 million children participating each year. Little League has celebrated many milestones due to the dedication of its players, parents and volunteers.

District Events

  • District 8 Board Member Training February 24, 2018 at 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Miami Springs We are kicking off our District Training Program with whom we feel are the most important volunteers in Little League, the local board members. Join us as we go through A Year in the Life of Hometown Little League, covering topics like chartering, insurance, registration, scheduling, marketing, and the tournament.
  • League Financial Reports due to District March 1, 2018 Local league financial reports are due for review by the District Administrator after a league has submitted their tax returns. This review is not an in depth review, but only meant to assist the District Administrator with verifying leagues are in good financial standing and their continued ability to support their programs.
  • League ASAP Plan Submission Deadline March 13, 2018 District 8 local leagues must have their ASAP safety plans submitted by March 13. Failure to have an ASAP plan may result in a league being excluded from hosting interleague, top-team, and international tournament games. Repeated failure to submit an ASAP plan may result in a league becoming ineligible for interleague play.
